13.9.2005 The “March to the center” before Farewell Party is organized for all participants. Please have a look, where “your” groups starts it´s walk! Hello festival-participant! This is a short addition to the newsletter of yesterday. 1. Accommodation in the barracks Each bus driver and each group, which is placed in the barracks will not need their own bedcovers. The bedcovers will be provided by the barracks! The bus drivers will receive a full catering during their stay here in Lippstadt in the barracks. For lunch on friday they will receive, just like the group members, meal vouchers for self-catering in the inner city. For lunch and dinner on saturday they will receive a lunch-package by the barracks which will be handed out during the breakfast time in the barracks. All bus drivers who will not sleep in the barracks, so will only drive our one-day-guests, have to be catered by their own! Please advise your bus drivers about these information! Each group which is placed in the barracks will have a guide for their own, who welcomes his group at the barracks and gives them the necessary instructions. The catering-times in the "Lipperland-Kaserne Lippstadt": | monday-friday | saturday-sunday | 2. The festival-ticket At the beginning of the festival each participant will get a festival-button which allows you to use all busses within the city net of Lippstadt. So you will ride comfortably from A to B and you can take even your instrument with you into the bus. Attention: Naturally you can engage this service. But in return the bus community pleases for a small serenade during your travel, so that the other passengers will have their own benefit of your presence! 4. Notice the timetable! Please pay attention to the given times for your performances! We instructed our sound engineers to pull down the PA if the bands overrun. So, also in your own interest, please do your performance without planned additions, which would blast the time-frame. With best regards Jens Frische

Dialogues of the actors will be in German language, the songs in English. For better understanding here is the complete conversation in English. Maybe you are interested to read during your travel to Lippstadt!? 25.8.2005 For the first time we have a festival overview online. 23.8.2005 Most of all pages had been updated. We aske all participants, to read all information carefully! 19.08.2005 In Lippstadt will be one whole week of singin, dancing and arts. The project “Ab in die Mitte”, sponsored by Nordrhein-Westfalen, all artist of Lippstadt will meet in the center of Lippstadt. Up from now you will find all information for “Ab in die Mitte - Noten für Lippstadt” (Let´s go into the city -Your mark for Lippstadt) In german language “Note” is the same word for “note” and “mark”. 09.08.2005 Hello festival-participant! The time is proceeding along and there is much to do in organising this event! In this relation your assistance is required!
1. Guest-beds Please let us know implicitly if you won't need an overnight stay here in Lippstadt! If you wish overnight stays and your stay here in Lippstadt does not include the whole space of time of the festival from 22.-25.09.2005, please give an information necessarily as well! For organising the guest-beds we need an exact list of the participants from each group. The list should give us information about all names, firstnames and the age of the participants. Also information about potential allergies, the continuous taking of pharmaceuticals and specifics like smoker/non-smoker or vegetarian are important for us. If you did not made the aforesaid particulars until today, please make up for it by 31.08.2005 the latest, because we won't be able to offer any guest-beds after this date! The accommodation will take place in guest-families in couples of two. Please show this information clearly within your list of participants!
2. Visa If you should need a visa für your departure from your country you will need an official invitation from the mayor of the city of Lippstadt. If this applies to you, we need implicitly an exact list with all group members before which contains all names and first names as written in their identity cards, the relative dates of birth, places of birth, the complete addresses, the ID-numbers of the identity cards and their validity dates. You won't get a visa without these information! Please refer them to us as quick as possible in your own interest! If you have any questions about the visa, please appeal to the bureau for visa which is responsible for you or make use of the possibility to contact groups of your own origin. Perhaps they can give you useful tips and can help you much faster surely! You can get information about the participating groups on the festival-website at: www.youthhansa.musikschule-lippstadt.de.
3. Accommodation of the bus drivers The accommodation of the bus drivers and their busses, as well as the catering for the drivers will take places at the Lipperland-Kaserne in shared rooms. For getting into the barracks a special authorisation card is needed which the drivers will get handed over by their first entry. For preparing the authorisation cards we necessarily need the driver's names, first names, as well as their dates of birth, places of birth, the complete address and the ID-numbers of their identity cards. Please send the necessary information to us by 20.09.2005 the latest so that a smooth chain can be warranted.
4. Organisationals At the accommodation we will attend on it that the several groups will be placed completely within the districts of the city of Lippstadt. To disburden the guest parents it is planned that the groups will be collected by their own coach at one central staging area. Please be prepared for this! If there will be no coach available for you during your stay here in Lippstadt please give a notice to us, so that we can organise your stay as near as possible to the inner city of Lippstadt to be in the parent's interest.
5. Your concert-tour If you should plan the festival to be a cause of a concert-tour, herewith we provide our full support to you! Surely we can arrange contacts to neighboring cities or we can organise a performance in an other city on friday afternoon or on sunday. 6. Experience Lippstadt! During the time of your stay here in Lippstadt we offer the possibility to you in collaboration with the "Heimatbund Lippstadt e. V." to explore Lippstadt and its surrounding area by your own coach. For the price of 25 EUR they offer you an experienced tutor who can explain the history of the old hanseatic city of Lippstadt. Information about the "Heimatbund Lippstadt e. V." you can get on the website: www.heimatbund-lippstadt.de. If there will arise questions or problems I naturally willingly will be at your's command! 04.08.2005 The festival is coming and our team, back from holidays is going to arrange everything. We could inform you, that there will be even one long week with about 400 young participants from Lippstadt, performing together with you. There is a short announcement in internet (sorry, only in German). 23.06.2005 We do now have 600 participants! In cooperation with Lippstadt Marketing we try to make a big event in Lippstadt. Many musicians in our town start to have concerts in the city on 17.09.05 all over the week. The festival will be opened by acting out our musical “Rydell High”, based on ideas of the musical “Grease”. Please organise your travel to Lippstadt that there is time enough to meet your hosts and go to our theatre!
21.06.2005 The Website On the festival-website you can find the updated listing of the participating groups now. We will extend this listing during the next week. New is EXCEL with all participants. Please notice, that the login on the webpage will only work with the new login-data after June, 20th. You have received these data with the last newsletter. Festival-Organisation To arrange the disposition of the guest-beds and to give definite information to the guest-parents as early as possible we need a list of the participants from each group. The list have to include information about the name, first name, gender, birthday, which instrument is played and an information about it, which participant wants to get placed with whom and if there are characteristics like vegetarian, smoker/non-smoker or if the participant have a heavy allergy or something else. Please notice that the placement will happen in groups of two. Please think about that each participant should organise a countrified “that´s my favourite” recipe, a stone from his country of origin and a photo with the view throughout his window. Information The festival will be commented within a paper thesis for the University of Sunderland (BA degree) by the IBS student Olga Schwarzmannseder. The topic of the elaboration is (working-title): "Event culture of the 21st century illustrated on the example of 1st youth Hansa Music and Art Festival" Mrs. Schwarzmannseder wants to interview some festival-participants and we want to provide her assistance.
